WASHINGTON — The U. S. Food and Drug Administration has issued an order advising patients to seek medical attention for erectile dysfunction and to consult with a doctor before taking any medication.

The order came after a U. District Court judge issued a warrant for the detention of seven people in an apparent effort to prevent the return of potentially dangerous drugs.

The drugs included Viagra, used to treat impotence and male erectile dysfunction, and sildenafil citrate, a drug used to treat high blood pressure.

The FDA said the drugs were being sold under the brand names of Cialis and Levitra, the prescription drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The drugs had been on the market since 2004, but were not approved by the FDA until this week, after being pulled from the market for allegedly being misbranded.

The order was issued at a pharmacy in Chicago. A spokesperson for the FDA said the company was not authorized to sell prescription drugs under the brand names of Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra. Cialis and Levitra are also sold in the U.

The FDA said its order was based on the "recent FDA approval" of Viagra in 1998.

In 2012, Viagra was the second erectile dysfunction drug to be withdrawn from the market, with the original competitor Eli Lilly's Cialis.

The company also stopped selling its own generic versions of the drug in the U. in 2017, after being found to have higher risks of adverse effects, including heart attack, stroke, and liver damage.

The FDA said it is reviewing the decision and will respond to the company's request for further comment.

The FDA said it has not issued a new warning to the companies because they have been identified as potentially dangerous.

In August, the agency issued an alert to manufacturers of products containing sildenafil, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The FDA said it is reviewing the order and will respond to the company's request for further comment.
